Nadya Suleman, the American woman who became famous worldwide when she gave birth to octuplets in January 2009 is currently renowned as Octomom in the media.
Suleman is once again in controversies, this time for collecting welfare without unveiling income from appearances and videos.
According to recent reports, Los Angeles County prosecutors have filed the felony charges against Suleman on 6th January, which include one count of aid by misrepresentation and two counts of perjury.
According to a report submitted by prosecutors, an year ago, Suleman filed for a welfare, but at a later stage didn’t show $30,000 in income for the first two quarter of financial year 2013-14, which she earned from personal appearances and residuals from videos.
Prosecutors have stated that if she is found guilty, she will face imprisonment of up to five years and eight months at least.
Jeff Czech, an attorney who has been representing Suleman since last many years, said in a statement made to one of the leading newspaper that he was not aware of the charges and presently is unprepared to comment on the case.
Excluding the octuplets, Suleman has six other children, and surprisingly she is 38-years-old.
Over the last few years she has been involved in a lot of controversies concerning bankruptcy, uploading exotic topless pictures of herself and she have had to go to a rehabilitation center for her drug problem.
According to a latest report submitted by the prosecutors, Suleman is expected to appear in court tomorrow. Whereas, they also said that they will claim $25,000, if she seeks bail.
