Temple Run 2 now available for Windows Phone

It is turning out to be a wonderful holiday season for users of Windows phone, and specifically those who love the Temple Run series.

As the holiday season begins and Christmas is on the brink, Temple Run 2 has been made available for Windows 8 users as a free download from the Windows Phone app store. However, the prerequisite is that the phone has to have at least 1GB of RAM.

Temple Run is a game which requires no introduction in the mobile gaming world, and this is the sequel to one of the most famed endless runner games ever to be made.

Temple Run 2 offers amazing new environment and new obstacles which include everything from zip-lines and mine tracks to sharper turns, bursts of flames and waterfalls.

This time there is larger and an even scarier monkey chasing you, but to help you in your quest, unlimited power ups will help you face the challenge.

However, it is really a disappointment that the game will not run on devices with 512 MB of RAM and neither do other endless runner games like Subway Surfer do. According to a Tweet by Joe Belfiore, who is the corporate vice president and manager for Windows Phone Program Management at Microsoft soon there will be a version that will run on lower RAM handsets as well.

The post read, “Temple Run fans… Happy holidays, Temple Run 2 is now in the Store for Windows Phone! 1GB for now… 512MB is coming!”

Previously Belfiore had also posted that soon there will be a Subway Surfer too that will run on phones with 512MB RAM, even though no specific timeframe has been given yet. You can download the current version of Temple Run 2 right here.
