Starbound release date, game reviews, and gaming news

Starbound is an upcoming indie game being produced by UK based independent game studio Chucklefish Ltd. The highly anticipated game has already begun its public beta version phase for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux.

The current release will be a good news for the people who were waiting for the game to get release in any shape. Starbound will also get feedbacks from developers as it might be with bugs and may lack some features.

Starbound was formally announced by Tiyuri in February 2012 with its pre-orders opened from April 13, 2013. It included a copy of the game, an invite to the beta and a download of the game’s soundtrack.

Starbound is written in C++ and uses a custom game engine. The soundtrack of the game is composed by American composer Curtis Schweitzer and will also feature pieces composed by Radiation and Solatrus.

According to the developers of the game, players who plan to participate in this initial testing phase should expect the game to be break at certain points but players will also enjoy the new content which is being added to the game constantly. The players can provide feedback about the bugs in the game as well as its features and mechanics.

Starbound takes place in a two dimensional universe which the player will explore in order to obtain new weapons, armor and other items. The game relies heavily on procedural generation as enemies and weapons.

Starbound is now currently available on Steam as an early AccessTitle for $15. The release date of the game is yet to be announced but it is believed that the game will be released in 2014.
