In order to compete better in the market, smartphone companies are offering cheaper versions of their flagships. Sony will soon be launching the cheaper version of the Xperia Z1 as Z1S.
The allegedly leaked image of the Z1S depicts the smartphone standing right beside the Xperia Z1 and gives a good comparison of the two devices.
The reason behind Xperia Z1S gaining a lot of hype these days is that it has never been seen before that a mini version of a flagship phone has almost similar specifications. Like the Xperia Z1f, the XperiaZ1s is believed to sport a compact form with a well-defined rectangular shape and slightly curved edges.
It is expected that it will come with 4.3-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor apparently powers the device that comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage.
It will run on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is rumored to feature a 20.7 megapixel camera. This phone is also said to be water-resistant and dust-proof.
The smartphone also features a 2300mAh battery and NTT Docomo has already announced the Japanese version of the phone to be launched soon.
The international model will feature almost similar specifications as the Japanese model. The phone is expected to hit Japan in December followed by a global roll out. Rumors suggest that Sony might officially announce the Xperia Z1S on November 26th. The actual specification will be known when the phone is launched officially.
