Samsung has announced the launch of an Android tablet specifically designed for children, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids features a second user mode designed specifically for young children. The Kids Mode user setting provides access to a separate service called Kids Store.
This is a 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 equipped with an extremely vibrant and more kid-friendly exterior. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids features a child-friendly design with a special rubber bumper surrounding a 7-inch 1024 x 600p resolution display.
With 1GB RAM and a 1.2GHz dual processor, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids has all the presentational capabilities to keep kids happily entertained for hours.
It comes with a 3MP rear camera and front camera is a 1.3-megapixel front camera for video calling. It has 8GB of internal memory plus a microSD card slot for extra storage.
The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids comes pre-installed with multiple entertainment apps, games, child-safe educational apps and eBooks.
In addition, Samsung’s Application Manager facilitates the parents to choose the apps that they want their kids should access and block those that they don’t want their kids to get their hands on. It also provides a time management feature for parents that can lock the device after a pre-set amount of usage.
The slate is already available in Korea and UK and now the company has confirmed that Australia is the next market to get it.
Samsung Australia’s Marketing Director, Arno Lenior, said the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids caters for different user requirements, particularly for parents. The suggested retail price is $229.99 and you will get a free bumper case with it.
