Bell and Virgin Mobile have launched a new color other than Black Mist and White Frost of the Samsung Galaxy S4, Aurora Red. But it’s only available for subscribers of AT&T, which will be the exclusive carrier for the Red Aurora Galaxy S4, which will sell for $199.99 with a two-year contract and $639.99 off-contract.
The Red Aurora Galaxy S4 is essentially the same as its black-and-white counterparts, providing users with a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display; a 1.9GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor; 2GB of RAM; 16GB (9GB) of internal storage; a 13-megapixel main camera; a 2-megapixel front-facing camera; and a 2,600mAh battery. The device runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
AT&T seems to have a special affinity for red shades; just about a year ago it also scored exclusive U.S. rights to sell the GS4 predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3, in a shade of red. Later, that color and others became available globally.
Meanwhile, a user from Chinese social media site Weibo has shared photos of the Dive Blue Galaxy S4 Active, which is set to be released in the U.S. on June 21, exclusively on the AT&T network. The Galaxy S4 Active is currently available for pre-order and will sell in Urban Gray as well as Dive Blue options.
While AT&T may have red cornered in the U.S., Samsung announced that a blue model will also pop up this summer, followed by purple and brown shades this fall. As with last year, it isn’t clear that all these colors will land in all countries.
