Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition launched – Price tag and specs review

Samsung, the electronics and technology giant from South Korea has officially launched the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition into the Ghanaian stores.

Samsung has bundled the newly launched device with a highly unique hand-crafted leather cover, an improvised S-Pen and better performance for improved multitasking. 

In a statement it was said by Jaspreet Singh, Business Leader for Handheld Products at Samsung Ghana, that Samsung has plans to partner with Vodafone Ghana to come up with exciting launch offers for people who buy the Galaxy Note 10.1 from Vodafone with one such offer being free 1.5GB Data each month for 3 months. Samsung also plans to give its users GH¢ 100 Koala Shopping Vouchers too.

Samsung has also partnered with banks which include EcoBank, Standard Chartered and SIC Life Financial Limited to come up with flexible payment plans for its customers who can avail the Galaxy Note 10.1 at EMIs of 6 to 12 months without having to pay any interest.

Since its release in October, the device has been highly talked about due to its improved S-Pen, the Samsung TouchWiz UI and a highly improved display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. A WXGA display had been sported by the original Galaxy Note 10.1.

The device weighs around 600 grams and has a micro USB port 2.0 underneath it along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and speaker grille on the left hand side.

The volume changing and power buttons are on the top. Another speaker grill, the S-Pen Stylus and a microSD card slot can be found on the right hand side.

The starting price of the device is around $549 and it comes with Android 4.3 JellyBean. It has an overwhelming battery backup of up to 18 hours.
