Samsung begins Android 4.3 update rollout for Galaxy S3

It has been a long time since Samsung had promised an OS update for its Galaxy S3. A number of updates starting from the Android 4.2.2 had been issued but pulled off too. Finally the confusion was settled in favor of the Android 4.3. The update was rolled out in various parts of the world before being scrapped again.

Samsung has again started rolling out the update in various parts of the world with users in US and UK receiving the Android 4.3 update. User in the UK should have already received the update and if not it’ll be in their phone in the next few days.

Support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch has been introduced; it also features Samsung Knox and many other new features. Verizon is taking care of things in US and has already started rolling out updates for the users.

We still do not know the precise location in Europe where people have started receiving the update but all the regions would soon begin to receive the update. Currently the Samsung Galaxy S3 runs the highly obsolete Android 4.1.

The Galaxy S3 users are really frustrated by the long wait for the update and to make things worse, Android 4.4 KitKat is coming to the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 in early 2014. There is no word on whether the Galaxy S3 will ever see a KitKat update or no.

After sever issues being encountered during the first rollout, undoubtedly the issues have been reduced this time but still some users are facing issues and not all is well in the update.

Some users have complained about the update being really slow, while some have complained about a shutdown of the smartphone. But many users have faced no issues and are really enjoying this new experience.
