Rube Goldberg Machines Featured in OK Go – This Too Shall Pass

During the 4th of July Google featured a Doodle which presents the Rube Goldberg machines. Rube Goldberg is a Jewish American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor. He had been very popular for his series of popular cartoons depicting complex devices that perform simple tasks in indirect, convoluted ways – now known as Rube Goldberg machines.

A band known as OK Go had featured Rube Goldberg machines in their video for the song, “This Too Shall Pass”. The very complex machine with interconnected tools and different objects for four minutes run inter-connectedly and in the end shoots the band member with paint.

OK Go is from Chicago, Illinois, now residing in Los Angeles. The band is composed of Damian Kulash (lead vocals and guitar), Tim Nordwind (bass guitar and vocals), Dan Konopka (drums and percussion) and Andy Ross (guitar, keyboards and vocals).

Here is their OK Go – This Too Shall Pass – Rube Goldberg Machine version.
