The FedEx Cup Playoffs began with The Barclays on Thursday and will conclude in three weeks with the Tour Championship.
The First round of The Barclays tournament concluded on August 23rd morning in Jersey City, New Jersey. The play was delayed twice due to the thunderstorms.
There were a total of 125 golfers on the field. However, 63 golfers were unable to finish their first rounds due to six hours of weather delay. The best golfers of the world have gathered at the Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City to compete for a $10 million bonus.
The final second round group was scheduled to tee off until 4:39 pm. Woods and defending FedEx Cup Champion had a tee time of 4:06 pm. But due to the weather delay, Woods along with some other players will have to come out bright and early on Saturday morning to finish off their second rounds.
Woods, a five time winner on the PGA Tour this season and Matt Kuchar are playing in the same group. Kuchar was 5 under through 13 holes on Friday while Woods was one under, despite starting with three birdies in five holes.
The golfers who will start their round two on Saturday morning are expected to finish their round three on Saturday itself so that the tournament can get back on track for a Sunday finish.
As per the opening round Tiger Woods is leading, but anything can happen as playoffs unfold. The playoffs culminate at the Tour Championship in Atlanta on September 22nd.
