Petition for Victoria’s Secret to use transgender model Carmen Carrera

After the fans started a petition to get Carmen Carrera hired, there are chances that the model could become Victoria’s Secret’s first transgender model.

A petition that is started by Marco Regalado of Merced, California, is now calling for the lingerie brand to add the 5ft 11inch beautiful model to its line-up which also includes Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima.

The petition reads, that “By making Carmen the very first transgender supermodel, you will help to end femme phobia within the LGBTIQQA community, but also it will show the entire transgender community that you embrace them as your patrons”.

The initiative taken by Regalado has already racked up more than 20,000 signatures and hundreds of comments supporting his petition.

Carrera, born Christopher Roman, for the first burst into the spotlight as a contestant on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2011. Carrera, who is signed to Elite Model Management, has done modeling for designer Marco Marco and has been featured twice in W magazine.

If Incase Victoria’s Secret hires the model, the company would be making history as well as a profound statement.

The model wrote on her Facebook wall that “I just want to take a moment to say WOW,” and “In less than a day the signature count has gone from a few hundred to almost 10,000! She also stated that “I’m amazed! And just to make it clear, this petition is not to force VS to do anything. It’s to prove that the world is ready for change and possibilities are endless!”
