Nintendo Direct has unveiled a new Wii U Zelda game, accompanied by eShop downloads – NES Remix and Dr. Luigi. The next Zelda game for the Wii U will not be the under development mainline sequel but a surprising new crossover with the Dynasty Warriors franchise.
This unconventional and controversial franchise by Tecmo Koei does not sell or review well in the West but in Japan it is still a huge success and for Nintendo, this has been enough to authorize a collaboration.
The video show on Nintendo Direct depicts a completely separate game set in the Zelda universe, rather than a crossover with the Dynasty series.
It is being called the Hyrule Warriors for the time being and till now there has been no official launch date for the game. All we know is that it will be launched next year at a yet unspecified date.
Other announcements for the Wii U included two free levels available for download for the Sonic: Lost World, with Yoshi’s Island being the first one and Zelda being the second one which will be available early next year.
Also available for download is the Golf Game for Wii Sports Club. A new course has been introduced based on the previous NES Gold Game and it also has the option to lay the GamePad on the floor so that you can see the ball and club while you aim the remote.
Another new release is the NES Remix which features new remixes of 16 early era NES games, for instance, appearance of Link having night races in Donkey Kong and ExciteBike. Finally, another game available for download is the Dr. Luigi, a minor variation of the puzzle game Dr. Mario.
