According to recent reports, the overheating issue is affecting both the Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, which is further causing problem with the tablet’s display.
There are reports which suggest that the screen of the tablet has a tendency to dim beyond a usable level, when gets excessively heated up.
After getting several complaints from the users, Microsoft has now acknowledged the issues and said in a statement that the company is working to fix the issue with the dimming screen.
In the due course the company has suggested that the users who are getting affected by the overheating issues simply should let their Windows 8.1 powered tablets cool down and then start using the tablet again.
An official Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement that “Surface devices may dim the screen as thermal temperatures rise from extended, high CPU intensive activities such as gaming,” Adding up to the statement he also said that “We’re working on a tuning update that will remove this unnecessary dimming event. All the users can expect this update in an upcoming Windows Update package. Until then all the user should allow the Surface to cool down for a minute or so in order to return the screen to previous brightness levels.”
The overheating issue is the first issue that the users have encountered since the tablet’s launch, late in October.
Microsoft earlier this month, rolled out a software update for the Nokia Lumia 2520 challenger, and the update claims to address the battery drain issues and increasing the tablet’s staying power by 25 per cent.
