Katy Perry’s single, Roar, leaked this week and was loved by everyone. It’s amazing. It is doubted that Russell Brand will be putting it on his iPod, anyway.
But it hadn’t even been on the internet for 24 hours when fans on Twitter started pointing out that Roar sounded a lot like Sara Bareilles’s song Brave and which was tweeted by Katy herself tweeted that she loved back on 16 May this year.
Katy Perry’s new song roar really sounds identical to Sara Bareilles’s song Brave which is awkward as said by one of her fans on Twitter.
Katy Perry’s Roar and Sara Bareilles’ Brave have the same beat. I like brave more than Roar” said one of her fans.
Another fan tweeted “Katy Perry’s Roar basically sounds just like Sara Bareilles’ Brave. As much as I love Katy Perry, Roar sounds exactly like Brave by Sara Bareilles” said someone else.
And someone else added: “Katy Perry that was rather Sara Bareilles of you.”
So basically, everyone has noticed it and Sara herself just tweeted: “All love everybody. All love.”
Producer and DJ Dillon Francis claimed that Katy’s lyrics video for Roar copied his song Messages’ video so copying Sara is not the only problem Katy is facing.
Francis is referring to the fact that the lyrics pop up onscreen like text messages, which is possibly an idea that a LOT of people have had over time. In fact, probably ever since text messages were invented.
Although there is good news for Katy and she’s announced she’s performing Roar for the first time ever at the MTV VMAs later this month.
She’ll get onstage at the awards on Sunday 25 August in LA.
