Jaguar F-Type 2014 coupe specs review and price

The new Jaguar F-Type Coupe is beyond gorgeous. It may just be the best-looking Jaguar designed since the iconic E-Type. Jaguar design chief Ian Callum just stated that “it’s my favorite car from all those I’ve worked on…I love this car.”

The new top-of-the-line sport Jag, Jaguar F-Type Coupe R, throws around an enormous 550 horsepower from its 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, the same engine from the XKR-S and the XFR-S. The Coupe R gets to 60 in just 4.0 seconds and hits a top speed of 186 mph.

The R comes with a new torque vectoring by braking system – a first for Jaguar – plus a second-generation electronic differential to help improve handling.

Jaguar also will offer the base F-Type Coupe, with a 340-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6, and the F-Type S Coupe, which has the same engine tuned to 380 hp. The base and mid-level models are quite quick, and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.1 and 4.8 seconds, respectively.

Tim Philippo, Jaguar Sports Cars Product Manager, spoke about the new Coupe. “What the Coupe really represents for us is that it more than doubles the market potential of the F-Type.

We launched in California because California is the largest sports car market in the world, so to have the global launch here in LA was a pretty big deal. There are actually more Coupe sports cars sold than Convertibles, even though California is a convertible market.”

The car is being launched in the US at $65,000 for the Coupe, $77,000 for the S Coupe and $99,000 (prices don’t include $895 destination fee) for the top-end R Coupe. The 2015 Jaguar F-type coupe will go on sale next spring.
