Glitch found in Gran Turismo 6 for PS3

Gran Turismo 6 is a sim racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer entertainment for the PlayStation 3 videogame console which was released worldwide on December 6, 2013. It is the sixth major release and twelfth game overall in the Gran Turismo video game series.

A glitch has been found in Gran Turismo 6 that gifts anyone playing the game 20 million credits. The glitch takes advantage of the 1.01 game patch and the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo car, which is included in said patch.

After getting the v1.01 update if the player buys Mercedes-Benz Concept from GT Vision for 1 million credits and after owning it if he deletes the game data using the Game Data Utility in the XMB which will remove the v1.01 update.

So, when the player launches the game again without the update applied he’ll be able to sell the Mercedes he just purchased and his credit total will sit at 20 million credits.

Sony is aware of the glitch and developers at Polyphony Digital will fix it shortly. In February 2013, Sony’s Computer Entertainment Europe senior vice president Michael Denny claimed that Gran Turismo 6 will remain a PlayStation 3 title, despite the recent unveiling of the PlayStation 4. With the glitch the player will have enough credits to purchase the most expensive car on offer.

Gran Turismo 6 was announced on May 15, 2013, when Sony Computer Entertainment Europe hosted a celebration of the 15th anniversary of Gran Turismo at Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom.
