Ford Focus ST price, features, and specs review

The sporty, EcoBoost-powered Focus ST is the Ford’s first hot hatch back, which according to experts is truly a global performance car.

The Focus ST is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 252 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

The maximum torque is reached in overboost mode, which adds 15 extra lb-ft for up to 15 seconds when the accelerator is pressed to the floor. The EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.

A tuned version of the Torque Vectoring Control found in the base-model Focus. In the standard system, brake torque is applied to the inner wheel when traveling through a corner, reducing understeer and allowing for more traction, which is almost similar to a traditional limited-slip differential.

Adding on to the strong thrust and quick handling, the Focus ST also delivers a respectable mileage of 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

Standard features on the car include Ford’s SYNC connectivity system, 18-inch alloy wheels, intelligent access with push button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and fog lamps.

Other equipment’s installed in the car include a premium Sony audio system, HD radio, dual-zone automatic climate control and Recaro partial-leather seats.

Every Focus ST is equipped with dual front, side and side curtain airbags in addition to traction and stability control systems and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

Conclusively, The Ford ST shines on a winding road or track and offers decent efficiency and great value for money.

The base model of the car is available with a price tag of $24,115.
