Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn open beta is live

A Realm Reborn’s Open Beta is now open to everyone, after 24 hours of being available to beta testers who played Phase 3 or earlier.

Now, users can connect online and see what the game is like on PC or PS3. To enjoy the latest from Final Fantasy, a user has to head to the Beta Tester Registration Site and fill out the forms before beginning the download. So, if you can encourage friends and family to sign up for one, they can get in on the action as well.

The client download of the game is 7GB, so users with slow internet connection may not be able to download it before the beta closes.

Characters won’t be wiped at the end of this beta phase, which is scheduled to end on Monday. Gamers who are really desperate and want to buy the Collector’s Edition regardless of how much it costs, there’s one place you where they can get it and that’s eBay.

Currently, the lowest price to buy the Collector’s Edition on PS3 is at $139.99, which is twice the amount of the original price. A Realm Reborn will be available this August 27th on both PS3 and PC. Those who prefer to do digital pre-orders can now do so via PSN, Amazon, or any game retailers.

Final Fantasy XIV is the fourteenth game in the Final Fantasy series and the second after Final Fantasy XI to be a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The game was developed and published by Square Enix, and is available in four languages; Japanese, English, French, and German.
