At the motor show in Dubai, the local firm Defining Extreme Vehicles Car Industry LLC supercar unveiled the Devel Sixteen which has 5000 horsepower from a sixteen-cylinder engine and goes 348 MPH. Its mid-mounted V16 engine will catapult the Devel from 0-60mph in 1.8 seconds.
Developed by Rashid Al-Attari, the Devel Sixteen will also have a “street mode” that will deactivate eight of the 16 cylinders and reduce power to about 800-900 horsepower.
However if you want the full shebang, push a button and the other eight cylinders, all four turbos, and 4,200 more horsepower come to life.
The Devel Sixteen comes with the exterior that is inspired from the likes of the Lamborghini Veneno and Pagani Huayra and in the cabin, it seems like it has been given a hale and hearty dose of Koenigsegg. It looks like a great combination of a Le Mans Prototype and a modern hyper-car. At the rear, you will find what appear to be two massive jet turbines but they are not jet-powered. It is an outstanding car that will blow your mind when you will have your first look at it.
The interior of the Sixteen is incredibly futuristic, yet luxurious. Now making such bold claims is very easy, backing them up is something else. Market would be surprised if a running prototype of this was made and could hit 200 km/h without falling apart.
The Devel Sixteen is reported to cost $1M (£620,000) and if the hypercar’s power figures were to be even half of those claimed, then the Devel Sixteen would appear to be pretty good value for money.
