BMW premiered BMW 4-Series convertible at the LA Auto Show 2013 – Specs, Price, and Release Date

The BMW 4 Series Convertible has its world premiere at the 2013 LA Auto Show. The 2014 BMW 4 Series Convertible will be available in both 428i and 435i configurations.

The retractable roof of the car is an enhanced version and it is distinguished by its advanced soundproofing capabilities and a progressive noise-absorbing headliner.

When the roof of the car is retracted then the load and unload assistance function reels the folded roof around the luggage compartment in order to maximize the storage space and to make the best use of it.

The wheelbase of the 4 series convertibles is slightly longer than the 3 series and is also lower in height when compared to the 3 series. Though the wheelbase grows by 50mm and has improved interior space as well as dynamics. The 435i Convertible that can produce a torque of 295 lb-ft and 302bhp has a performance which is a little behind the Coupe.

The top speed of the convertible remains the same i.e. 155mph but the time frame for reaching from 0-60 is a little more than the equivalent Coupe’s time.

Whereas the 428i will come standard with a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four that is capable of producing 240 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque and can make the needle climb from zero-to-sixty in 6.2 seconds.

The two-door coupe has a three-piece retractable hard roof-top which can be folded with the touch of a bottom and can transform the car into a convertible within just 20 seconds. The 428i and 435i variants of the vehicle will be on sale in the US in first half of 2014. The 428i will be priced starting from USD 48,750 and the 435i from USD 54,900 in the US.
