It has been reported that very recently the four new maps included in the Second Assault add-on pack of Battlefield 4 were revealed this Friday in a live stream of the Battlefield 4 showdown event.
While the new add-on pack was being introduced during the event, simultaneously the top Battlefield players from Europe and North America were fighting head-to-head in Battlefield 4’s multiplayer modes.
It was also revealed at the event that some of the fan-favorite maps from Battlefield 3 will be receiving a makeover and will be introduced in Battlefield 4.
New features of Battlefield 4 like Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman, Operation Metro and Operation Firestorm also received a face lift due to the launch of these new maps.
One of the company’s officials said in a statement that “We’re on the third iteration of the ‘Frostbite’ engine now, and rather than charging forward with ever more flashy and eye-catching effects, the DICE are focusing more on the nuance and finesse of the engine.”
It is expected that the new add-on pack, which is one of the five planned expansions for BF4, will be released at first for only the Xbox One on November 22 and will be a timed exclusive.
It is expected that China Rising, the second DLC to the game, will be launched on December 3rd. The players have also been provided with an option to pay $50 for a Battlefield Premium subscription, in which all the five expansions will be covered. These expansions are expected to be released between now and the coming summer of 2014.
The game was launched in the United States on October 29th, in Australia and Japan it was launched on October 31st and it saw a November 1 release in Europe. The game has been released for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
