Android 4.4 KitKat Upgrade: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 update having a delay

With release dates still not sure, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update that was also confirmed by French carrier SFR a few days ago, is still awaited by the S4 users.

SFR had confirmed that soon the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 would be receiving the KitKat update and the confirmation came despite any official statement from Samsung.

There were other rumors as well supporting SFR’s announcement stating that Samsung was planning to release the Android 4.4 KitKat update in January.

The users have been eagerly anticipating the carrier’s update of the release date for the upgrade but there has been no news yet.

A recent update that was released by SFR, states that the only Samsung devices that will receive an update are Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 and that too the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

There is no citing about the Galaxy S4 or the Galaxy Note 3 in the update. SFR has made no official statement about why did the updates did not show up as they were scheduled.

And to avoid any further disappointment we shall assume that SFR will be unable to fulfil its promise and there will no January release of the KitKat update.

It is likely that there could be a February roll out and it is also possible that Samsung stepped in and made SFR take down the information. Highly reliable tipster SamMobile also said there might be a KitKat update for a Samsung model number which appears to be the Galaxy S4.

Most likely the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3 would be the first Samsung devices to receive the KitKat update and subsequently the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 in April.
