2014 Skoda Octavia Combi review – Specs and Features


The new Skoda Octavia RS is a continuation of the current model offensive of the Czech automaker Skoda.

The new Combi makes a mark in its segment in every possible way. The space provided by the automobile manufacturer based in the Czech Republic is can only be found in higher classes.

No other compact except the new Skoda combi offers more interior length (1,782 mm), more knee room (73 mm) and more headroom at the back (980 mm).

The new car is 90 mm longer than the outgoing model making it to measure up to 4.659 meters in length. The company has placed its logo on the bonnet of the car because of which the radiator grill is more slightly bigger giving it a richer look.

According to Winfried Vahland, Skoda’s CEO “The new Škoda Octavia RS is a racy and a clever compact sports car in one.

Both, as a saloon and as an estate, the Octavia RS sets new standards in the class and will continue the success story of the Škoda RS models”.

Adding to it he also said that the car is extremely practical vehicle making it as the top model of the Octavia series and represents 112 years of motorsports history.

In the new car the sports chassis is standard equipment and the clearance is 15 mm lower than in the standard Octavia.

The standard features of the car include electronic XDS differential lock, which is part of the ESC electronic stabilization program me, the inclusion of this feature helps to improves wheel traction and reduces the risk of understeering in fast cornering.

The Octavia RS also includes some of the clever features which are available depending on different trim levels.

It also comes with an optional variable boot floor, using which, the boot can be divided into a variety of heights and areas, thus providing flexible transportation options.

One of the most attractive optional feature include the Keyless-Entry-Start-and-Exit-System (KESSY). Adding to it, a power panoramic tilting sunroof is also available.
