2014 Nissan Infiniti Q50 price, specs, features, and release date

Though Nissan Infiniti 2014 Q50 was designed to replace the existing G37, but the company has decided to sell both the models simultaneously.

2014 Infiniti Q50 starts off from 37,605 USD. A hybrid version is also available which would cost 44,855 USD. Q50 is equipped with a V6 3.7 liter engine. The hybrid version on the other hand is fitted with a V6 3.5 liter engine, a 50 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack.

But what’s with the “Q”? In order to pay homage to its original vehicle, the 1989 Q45 luxury sedan, Infiniti named the car Q50. All the Infiniti cars will carry the prefix ‘Q’, 2014 onwards.

Since Q50 is the first of the new Infiniti generation, it has a new design philosophy in addition to the new nameplates.

The car is not only charming but is intelligent also. It is equipped with cruise control. Unlike the normal cruise control in other cars, the cruise control of Q50 adds radar that in addition to detecting a car ahead also tells what the car is doing.

Equipped with radar and cameras the front end of the car can scan the road surface and painted lines. Lane departure detection system is another interesting technology in Q50.

A lot of good work has been done in Q50. It is well priced and fun to drive. The car is set to release in mid- August. The advanced sign-up for Q50, announced at New York international auto show in March, closed on June 30 with 3650 orders thereby exceeding the expectations.
