2014 Jaguar F Type Coupe release date, price, specs, and features

Jaguar is back in the sports car market with its all-new F-Type. Aesthetically, the F bears no family resemblance to Jaguar’s last great sports car, the E-type, allegedly endorsed by Enzo Ferrari as the most beautiful car ever created.

2013 Frankfurt Auto Show that will be held in September is a prestigious auto show in which a lot of cars will be debuted. Without any doubt, many of them are the cars that have not yet been released to public because they have not undergo production process or are still in the form of fixed concept. Lately, it has been confirmed that this future car will debut also in the auto show.

The F-type puts the fight to Porsche’s Boxster and Cayman and even base-spec 911s and it will need to offer the same breadth of roof choices. It merely resembles a Jaguar, partly because of its more vertically oriented headlights and thin-slit taillights. These elements might be reserved for sporty Jaguars.

Just like the convertible, the 2014 Jaguar F-Type will be available in three trim levels—the standard car with a 340-hp, 3.0-liter supercharged V-6, the S model with the same supercharged V-6 tuned to 380 hp, and the V-8 S with a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 producing 495 hp. All powertrains are matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0-liter V6 S gets its power boosted to 380PS and does the 0-100km/h dash in only 4.9 seconds.

The top speed for the F-Type convertible equipped with this engine is 275km/h. The range topping model is a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 S which boasts of 495PS. The top speed is 300km/h and only 4.3 seconds is needed to touch the 100km/h mark from rest. The car starts at $69,895 for the standard model and reaches up to $92,895 for the V-8 S Model.
