The R8 V10 Spyder is the convertible version of Audi’s mid-engined, 10-cylinder R8 supercar.
The R8 Spyder is manufactured on the same platform as the Lamborghini Gallardo, which helps the car to get excellent balance of extreme performance and quiet around-town driving manners.
Audi, the German automobile manufacturer modified the Spyder with new looks and replaced the antiquated six-speed single-clutch gearbox with a modern seven-speed dual-clutch unit, which according to the company will improve efficiency and provides smoother, quicker shifts.
The R8 V10 Spyder is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine. Taken from Lamborghini, the mill is capable of producing 525 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 391 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm.
Adding on to it are the thrilling noises throughout the rev range Maximum engine speed at a stunning 8,700 rpm.
The R8 is capable of accelerating from 0- 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, the top speed is quoted at 193 mph.
The company has also equipped the car with a four-wheel drive system that distributes output variably to the front and rear axles by way of a tacky clutch.
The company claims that the R8 V10 Spyder is fuel efficient convertible with a mileage of 12/19 city/highway mpg, while the dual-clutch-equipped variant is good for 13/22 mpg.
Standard features of the car include supple Nappa leather upholstery, a navigation system with SiriusXM Traffic, a seven-speaker, a 12 speaker, 465-watt Bang & Olufsen AM/FM/CD stereo system with SiriusXM satellite radio, heated seats, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, a rearview camera, front and rear ultrasonic parking sensors and full LED exterior lighting.
The R8 V10 Spyder is available with price tag ranged between $132,650-135,000.
